Heritage Center The focal point of McFarland is easily spotted as one enters the town one mile south of Interstate 70. Located on Rock Island Road north of the ball field, the ex-Rock Island Depot is the pride of the town. The building is used as the city hall with a meeting room and offices, and also serves as a place to preserve McFarland and Rock Island Railroad memorabilia and history.
The exhibits of the town and railroad will continue to grow in the future as space allows. Visitors are welcome to view the building.
